Presidents of Uzbekistan and South Korea hold face-to-face talks29.03.2006 08:46 Presidents of Uzbekistan and South Korea Islam Karimov and Roh Moo-Hyun held face-to-face talks in Seoul on Wednesday. The leaders discussed the current state and perspectives of Uzbek-South Korean relations, as well as issued of trade and economic cooperation. They also touched upon international and regional problems representing mutual interest.
President Roh Moo-Hyun noted that South Korea attached great importance to the current visit. Korean people highly value hospitality and generosity of Uzbeks and their friendship, he said.
President Islam Karimov stressed that talks in Seoul were a logical continuation of Uzbek-South Korean negotiations on the highest level, which took place in May 2005 in Tashkent, and that the continuity of meetings demonstrates mutual aspiration towards expanding bilateral relations.
