Uzbek hajj pilgrims thank President Karimov11.01.2006 19:48 Uzbek hajj pilgrims wrote a letter to President Islam Karimov on 9 January 2005 from Mecca, Arafat Valley, in which they congratulated him and the country’s citizens with the holy holiday of Kurban Hayit.
“Conditions created from the early years of independence for the Muslims of our Motherland, for us making blessed hajj, are a proof of your fatherly attention to national and religious values. Your kind aspirations for the sake of the country’s interests inspire our people for new deeds,” the letter said.
“We, Uzbek hajj pilgrims, who have been lucky to make the great prayer on the holy land of Mecca, in our prayers ask the Almighty for eternal peace and tranquility in the independent Uzbekistan governed by you, and for the prosperous and happy life for our people,” it added.
