Pearl of Ferghana Valley

Since old times, Margilan has played an effective connecting role of different areas of silk road cities, as a commercial and cultural center, which developed the prosperity of the city. Margilan was the place of origin of many scientists, state men and people of art. Many administrative, cultural objects, educational institutions located in this city.

Resolution of the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov on celebration of 2000th anniversary of Margilan city gladdened not only people of Margilan, but also all Uzbek people. Currently preparation to the city’s jubilee being started by local administration.

910th anniversary of Burhoniddin Margiloniy was celebrated on the initiatives of Islam Karimov in 2000.

Margilan is famous for its beautiful landscapes and ancient history, Ferghana is home to a variety of industrial and agricultural enterprises. The region is one of the leaders in the Uzbekistan’s oil extraction and processing, power generation, production of fertilizers, chemical fiber, marble, machine-building, also production grain, fruits, vegetables and many other agricultural products.

- We were very pleased by Presidential decree on celebration 2000th anniversary of Margilan city, - said Daputy governer of Margilan city N.Dadabaev. – We have already started the preparations to coming jubilee. It is expected that large-scale creative works will be held around the city. At the earliest possible date new buildings, manufacturing ventures will also be provided into commission.
