Budget and Economic reforms committee discusses entrepreneurship activity in Namangan

An extended session of the Committee for Budget and Economic reforms of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan discussed the implementation of Law "On the guarantees of freedom of entrepreneurship activity" in Namangan region.

Chaired by A. Ahadov, the session drew the deputies of the Legislative Chamber, representatives of concerned ministries, departments, administrations and organizations, etc.

During discussions, the participants noted that in 2004, the share of small business and private enterprise entities in the region's GDP made up 48%, and the number of people engaged in this sphere reached over 400,000.

At the same time, however, the number of operating entities decreased from 84% of the total number registered small and private businesses in 2003 to 74.8% in 2004.

The session of the Committee for Science, Education, Culture and Sport of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis was dedicated to implementation of the Law "On physical education and sport" in Khorezm region. The Chairman of the Committee Azamat Ziyo led the session.

Over the past years, a great number of sport grounds and structures were built in order to develop mass sport. However, the regional department for culture and sports does not pay sufficient attention to its effective exploitation, development and implementation of programs for further development of mass sport movement.

The session made the decision on the results of control-analytical monitoring, which was directed for implementation to corresponding state structures.

Another session was held by the Committee for Democratic Institutions, NGOs and Citizens' Self-government Bodies of the Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis.

Chaired by A. Saidov, it discussed the issues of implementation of the new edition of the Law "On citizens' appeals" in Kashkadarya region.

It was pointed out that various measures are being taken on implementation of the law, increasing responsibility of managers and officials of the regional, city and district administrations, enterprises, organizations and facilities by administrations and state bodies.
