Health train sent to Karakalpakstan from Tashkent09.08.2007 07:39 Health train was sent from Tashkent to the Republic of Karakalpakstan by the ecology and health foundation Ecosan.
The action was organized in association with Uzbekistan Railways company in connection with the Year of Social Protection program.
The train will deliver humanitarian cargo worth over 50 million soums, which includes medicaments, clothes, shoes and other consumer goods.
Since the beginning of this year, similar cargo was delivered to Bukhara, Kashkadarya, Namangan, Surkhandarya and Ferghana regions. The total cost of the humanitarian aid to these regions made up more than UZS 566 million.
Until the end of 2007, more health trains will be sent to other regions of Uzbekistan.
The items will be distributed among medical and children’s establishments, as well as low-income families of in the region.
