On July 19, 2018, a meeting with the delegation of the State Administration for Tourism of China led by the Head of the Representative Office for Central Asia Wang Shulin was held at the State Committee for Tourism Development.

The sides exchanged views on the most urgent issues of cooperation in the field of tourism between Uzbekistan and the PRC, including on launching the procedure of Uzbekistan’s entry into the ADS system.

It was also noted that it is important to systematically involve young specialists with knowledge of the Chinese language for the work of guides and interpreters. Intensification of activities on preparation of guides with knowledge of the Chinese language, as well as development and implementation of joint projects in this direction were discussed.

At the meeting, the Chinese side announced that it intends to take part for the first time with a separate national stand of China (200 sq. m.) and with separate stands for 6 travel companies (approximate area of 100 sq. m.) from China at Tashkent International Tourism Fair “Tourism on Silk Road”, on October 3-5, 2018.

As reported by the Press Service of the State Committee for Tourism Development, within the framework of this visit, B2B meetings were organized between China and Uzbekistan travel companies in cooperation with the Association of private tourism agencies, in order to develop practical issues of establishing cooperation on the reception of tourists from China to Uzbekistan. The guests will visit the cities of Samarkand and Bukhara to become familiar with the historical and cultural heritage and to make a final decision on Uzbekistan’s entry to the ADS system, as well as development of tourist centers of the country.
