Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan Deputy Prime Ministers discuss bilateral cultural and humanitarian cooperation
The meeting of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov with the Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Akhmedov was held in Baku. At the meeting, the Azerbaijani side highly appreciated the success of Uzbekistan in implementing large-scale reforms within the framework of implementing provisions of the Action Strategy for five priority areas of development of the country in 2017-2021, initiated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Regarding the current state and prospects of development of Uzbekistan – Azerbaijan relations, the parties noted with deep satisfaction their dynamic and progressive development.
Great potential in tourism, implementation of which can bring the two countries and people closer together, was noted. Ali Akhmedov noted that historical cities of Uzbekistan, Bukhara and Samarkand are very popular among the local population in Azerbaijan.
At the same time, it was noted that Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan have a great potential for further deepening cooperation in socio-economic, investment and cultural-humanitarian spheres. The parties agreed on a joint roadmap for implementation of measures aimed at further promoting ties in culture, science, education, sports and tourism.
