New dictionaries for professionals

Terminology and dictionaries service team of the State Unitary Enterprise «Unicon.uz» at Uzbek Agency for Communications and Informatization has completed work on three specialized dictionaries, printed by the publishing house «Fan» Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Anglo-Russian-Uzbek Dictionary of terms of operating information technology systems was released. The dictionary contains approximately 2000 terms from different fields of information technology and is designed for a wide range of users. The terminology includes such sections as operating systems and environments, as well as a graphical user interface, hardware, standard software and the Internet, networks, databases, and the subject of database management, languages and programming environments, multimedia technologies.

According to experts of the Center «Unicon.uz», the goal of the terminological dictionary is use the state language on computers with different operating systems. Today there is an urgent need not only to correct and precise choice of the Uzbek equivalent terms, but a single interpretation.

Dictionary aims to increase the number of users in Uzbekistan, as well as promote the development of ICT in the country. This valuable guide will be useful to all users of systems, teachers, translators, and novice programmers, system administrators.

In modern conditions the problem of protecting information from unauthorized access, dissemination of false information, disruption of the normal functioning of information systems due to the introduction of «Computer Viruses» becomes particularly acute.

This scientific study is the first attempt to generalize the existing terminology in the field of information security. Dictionary is the result of professional work at Terminology and dictionaries service team of the State Unitary Enterprise «Unicon.uz». It includes about 1400 terms, arranged in alphabetical order. Dictionary reflects the terms and definitions in Russian and Uzbek languages, as well as the equivalents of these terms in English.

Dictionary may be useful to experts in the field of information, business managers when developing information security policy, students and graduates of relevant disciplines, as well as a wide range of people interested in the problems of information security.

The third book was the Russian-Uzbek Dictionary of terms for electrical supply. It is designed for a specific audience – the authors of future textbooks and teaching aids, as well as experts on energy supply of telecommunication systems in order to define and identify terms in the Uzbek language.
