Fazliddin Gaibnazarov improves his pro record to 5-0 as he defeats Kevin Johnson
Uzbekistan’s Fazliddin Gaibnazarov beat Kevin Johnson by unanimous decision in an eight-round junior welterweight fight. This was reported by sports.uz.
The previously unbeaten Johnson gave Gaibnazarov trouble at times, particularly with his straight right hand in the third and sixth rounds, but overall, Gaibnazarov was busier and landed more clean punches.
Gaibnazarov, who won a gold medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics, won by the same score, 78-74, on each of the three scorecards.
Gaibnazarov improved to 5-0 (2 KOs). Detroit’s Johnson suffered his first professional defeat (5-1, 4 KOs).
Gaibnazarov went down right after the midway point of the eighth round, but it was the results of their legs getting tangled. Neither fighter appeared hurt at any point in their fight.
