UzA, 26 March 2010, 20:33

Uzbek Jang San’ati (martial art) Federation has established cooperation with the World All Style Combat Organization (WASCO).

WASCO president Gianni Sarritzu paid a visit to Uzbekistan, during which he familiarized himself with the development of sports in the country.

Gianni Sarritzu watched the Uzbek jang san’ati national championship among juniors and youth, in which about 500 sportsmen aged 9 to 24 participated.

Uzbek jang san’ati directions include health improvement, hand fighting, Temurids fighting style and jang kurashi.

Last December, the International Jang Kurashi Federation was created in the structure of the International Kurash Association at the latter’s meeting in India.

Currently, about 20,000 young people are mastering Uzbek jang san’ati in the country. They are trained by over 200 specialists.

The new type of national sport was presented last year in Russia, Kazakhstan and South Korea. Demonstrations of Uzbek jang san’ati continue at various international events.

Last year, Uzbek Jang San’ati Federation became the member of the World Martial Arts Union (WoMAU).

Uzbek jang san’ati is one of the national types of sport that have seen extensive development after Uzbekistan proclaimed independence, along with kurash, belbogli kurash, ulak-kupkari and others.
