International jang kurash federation founded

The national sports like kurash, belbogli kurash, turon and ulak-kupkari are becoming more and more popular in Uzbekistan. This year, another Uzbek art of fighting called jang kurash joined this list.

The Executive Committee of the International Kurash Association held a session in India on 6-8 December, which approved creation of the International Jang Kurash Federation within the association.

More than 20,000 young people in Uzbekistan are currently mastering the Uzbek art of fighting. They are trained by more than 200 trainers and specialists, journalists were told at a press conference in Tashkent.

As popular sports, kurash and the art of fighting are contributing to the promotion of healthy lifestyle in the country.

The new sport was demonstrated at sports events in Russian, Kazakhstan and South Korea this year.
