Uzbekistan is carrying out large-scale activity for celebrating the 90th anniversary of Chingiz Aytmatov’s birth.

Within the framework of the execution of the resolution of the President of the country “On wide celebration of the 90th anniversary of the great writer and public figure Chingiz Aytmatov’s birth” of April 2, 2018, large-scale activities are being carried out. A feature film is being shot based on the story of the great writer “My Poplar in a Red Headscarf”.

The film adaptation is carried out by the Creative experimental studio “Yoshlar”, commissioned by the National Agency Uzbekkino. Filming takes place in Tashkent and Namangan regions, and in the territory of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan.

Worthy gift to the anniversary of the great writer

An actress of the academic theater of Kyrgyzstan Madina Talipbek is invited to the role of the main character of the film – Asal. The role of Hadicha is performed by Kyrgyz actress – Elina Abay kizi.

The film was shot in one of the houses of “Ozod” makhalla of Namangan, in the regional central maternity hospital, in the mountainous area of Yangikurgan district, in the village of Gova in Chust district.

– This project is important as it absorbed many facets of reforms carried out in our country, – said K.Sotivoldiyev, head of Namangan regional branch of the National Agency Uzbekkino. – Firstly, it will serve as an important step towards restoring cultural ties between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. Secondly, it promotes the work of the great writer, raises the reading culture, as well as raises creative cooperation in development of cinema art to a new level.

The film to be premiered in December 2018.
