Uzbekistan – Armenia: cooperation prospects in healthcare
Delegation led by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Armenia Arsen Torosyan visits Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of the visit, guests got acquainted with activities of the Republican Specialized Scientific Practical Medical Center of Surgery named after academician V. Vakhidov in Tashkent.
Researches on modern methods of diagnosis and treatment, complex and high-tech surgical operations are being carried out in this center, which cooperates with leading medical clinics of the United States, South Korea, Russia, France, Japan. In particular, the practice of kidney and liver transplantation has been introduced.
At the meeting, Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhodir Nizamov, Director of the Center Feruz Nazirov informed guests about large-scale measures taken on the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to reform Uzbekistan’s health sector. They were also informed about activities carried out on development of medical institution.
In turn, A. Torosyan praised Uzbekistan’s achievements in providing qualitative medical services, established partnership. He forwarded a proposal on establishing cooperation between the leading medical centers of the two countries in scientific and medical purposes.
The delegation of Armenia visited Akfa Medline medical center in Tashkent.
Akfa Medline is equipped with medical equipment of last modification. Here, highly-qualified specialists in ultrasound diagnostics, therapy, gynecology, gastroenterology, dietetics, physiotherapy, otorhinolaryngology, urology, pediatrics, cardiology, ophthalmology, neurology, endoscopy, orthopedics, surgery and neurosurgery are working on restoring and strengthening people’s health.
Guests attended a number of meetings and negotiations on cooperation, organized at ministries and agencies.
