At the Tashkent textile and light industry institute, the Tashkent city phase of the “Neighbourhood in my destiny” contest has been conducted by the Mahalla (neighbourhood) public charity foundation in partnership with the Ministry of Public Education and the Ministry of Culture.

This event was held on the slogan of “Dear neighbourhood, the cradle of values”. 11 teams qualified at the district stages of the contest. They displayed their knowledge about the history of their neighbourhood, national ideology and national culture.

The “Neighbourhood in my destiny” contest is conducted in three phases. Students of higher grades of general education schools, academic lyceums and vocational colleges participated in the contest.

The qualifying phase of the contest was conducted among 493 teams of people’s gatherings in neighbourhoods. More than 3,000 young people participated in this phase of the contest.

At the district phase of the contest, 93 teams of neighbourhoods in the capital city had their knowledge tested.

According to the results of the contest, the “stars of hope” team of the “Umid (hope)” neighbourhood in Olmazor district achieved first place.

The “Istiqlol (independence)” team of the “Koksaroy” neighbourhood in Yashnaobod district took second place. The “builders of future” team of the “Uvaysiy” neighbourhood in Yunusobod district took third place.

Diplomas and memorable gifts were given to the winner team and runners-up.
