The founder of independent UzbekistanAn international scientific conference on "Islam Karimov – the founder of state independence of the Republic of Uzbekistan" was held in Samarkand.
The event, organized jointly by the Academy of Sciences, the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Scientific and Enlightenment Memorial Complex named after Islam Karimov, the Union of Writers of Uzbekistan, the Charity Public Foundation named after Islam Karimov and other ministries and departments, was attended by domestic and foreign historians, political scientists, public figures.
At the plenary session of the conference, President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan B.Yuldoshev, founder of Charitable Public Foundation named after Islam Karimov, T.Karimova, head of the Scientific and Enlightenment Memorial Complex named after Islam Karimov, T.Shirinov, from the Chinese side, head of the Confucius Institute at Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages Liu Tao, head of department of Kazakh-German University Raushan Serik and others told about the work done by Islam Karimov as the founder of independent Uzbekistan.
Thanks to the work carried out at the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on perpetuation of memory of Islam Karimov, monuments to the First President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov have been erected in the cities of Tashkent, Samarkand and Karshi. And in the Khazrati Khizr complex of the city of Samarkand, where Islam Karimov found eternal rest, a mausoleum was erected in traditions of national architecture. The Oksaroy Residence in Tashkent was transformed into the Scientific and Enlightenment Memorial Complex named after Islam Karimov. In January this year, the 80th anniversary of birth of the great statesman, the founder of the independent state of Uzbekistan, was widely celebrated.
Reports were heard at the sessions of the conference, on policies of Islam Karimov, his outstanding role in achieving and strengthening Uzbekistan’s state independence, and developing international relations.
Participants of the international conference visited the mausoleum of Islam Karimov.
