A regional workshop on production of gender statistics from households through household surveys, organized by the United Nations Statistics Division in cooperation with the Asian Development Bank and the National Statistical Service of Georgia for the countries of the CIS region was held in Tbilisi (Georgia).

A regional workshop on production of gender statistics from households through household surveys, organized by the United Nations Statistics Division in cooperation with the Asian Development Bank and the National Statistical Service of Georgia for the countries of the CIS region was held in Tbilisi (Georgia).

It was attended by representatives of the United Nations Statistics Division, the Asian Development Bank and the National Statistical Office of Georgia, as well as statistical agencies from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, the Russian Federation, Georgia, Moldova, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan.

At the workshop, United Nations Methodological Guidelines for Measuring Gender Ownership of Assets, its main recommendations, and data collection strategies for household surveys were discussed. Representatives of the participating states considered issues of legislative regulation of property rights, aspects of conducting field works, development of questionnaires.

According to the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics, the data of a survey of households on property, including financial assets, jewelry, land ownership rights, using the example of Georgia, Mongolia and the Philippines was also considered.
