The Development Strategy Center hosted a meeting with representatives of the World Bank led by the Regional Director for Central Asia Lilia Burunciuc, Managing Director of the Growth Dialogue Danny Leipziger, and senior economist Julio Revilla.

In order to discuss ongoing economic reforms and international experience on creating the Council of Economic Advisers and their importance for Uzbekistan, the Development Strategy Center hosted a meeting with representatives of the World Bank led by the Regional Director for Central Asia Lilia Burunciuc, Managing Director of the Growth Dialogue Danny Leipziger, and senior economist Julio Revilla.

As reported by the Development Strategy Center, at the meeting, the sides discussed the ongoing reforms within the framework of the Action Strategy in Uzbekistan, in particular, the ongoing positive changes in priority areas of development and liberalization of the economy.

The experts of the World Bank noted the importance of carrying out these reforms while actively attracting foreign investment. In this regard, they expressed interest in developing a long-term model of economic development of Uzbekistan in partnership with the Development Strategy Center. As noted, the World Bank has great positive experience in developing a long-term development model for Vietnam, covering all aspects and directions.

In turn, the Director of the Development Strategy Center A.Burkhanov informed the guests about the initiative of development of a long-term development model for the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2035, based on international best practices and an objective analysis of Uzbekistan markets.
