Happy children of independenceIn Navoiy, a youth festival entitled “Children of independence” has taken place under the slogan of “My life, my destiny – my sacred homeland, my beautiful and unique Uzbekistan”.
The event held by the Kamolot public youth movement in cooperation with the region’s secondary special and vocational training directorate and its directorate for culture and sports on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the country’s independence was attended by talented young people who had won in various contests, science Olympiads and sports competitions.
It has been said that special attention is being paid under the leadership of the country’s President to giving comprehensive support to the younger generation and to creating wide conditions and possibilities for them to display their talent and potential.
As part of the festival, an exhibition of pictures on the topic of “My gift to my Motherland” was arranged in Navoiy town’s gallery of visual arts. In the town’s youth centre, presentations of innovative business ideas and various exhibitions were conducted.
Participants were given a lot of information about consistent reforms being implemented in the country and about work being done to ensure the openness and transparency of the functioning of bodies of state administration and government and to improve the judicial-legal system.
At the Navoiy ore-extraction and metals combine’s history museum and at the new modern educational building of the Navoiy state ore extraction institute, young people were very much interested in conditions that had been created for the rational use of the country’s subsurface resources and the training of qualified specialist for this sphere.
“In future, I will also be making a worthy contribution, as a happy child of independence, to the development of our Motherland,” says a student of the academic lyceum under the University of World Economics and Diplomacy, Nargiza Majidova.
The youth festival concluded with a concert programme with the participation of famous artistes and young performers in the small amphitheatre of the Alisher Navoiy central culture and recreation park.
