Tashkent hosted a workshop in cooperation with the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Istanbul University (Turkey).

The event was organized to exchange experience in the fight against terrorism and extremism, as well as further development of cooperation between higher education institutions of the two countries.

Strengthening cooperation, especially, protection of youth from the influence of religious movements, raising them as educated and loyal personalities to their Motherland play an important role in the fight against destructive ideas.

Head of the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Bakhodir Matlubov, Professor of Istanbul University Mustafa Karataş and others emphasized that the agreements reached during the meetings of the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Turkey, as well as rapidly developing cooperation in various fields created broad opportunities for further strengthening relations in scientific, educational, spiritual-enlightenment and other spheres.

During the two-day workshop, professors, teachers and cadets of the Academy heard reports on “The threat of terrorism and religious extremism to society”, “Issues of teaching the basics of Muslim law and religious education in police educational institutions” and others.

Within the framework of the event, guests visited the sites of Tashkent, Bukhara and Samarkand.
