Deputies are studying the situation at places

Members of the parliament led by Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Hotamjon Ketmonov are becoming acquainted with condition of rivers and canals, reservoirs, as well as pumping stations in Namangan region.At the meeting, chaired by the President of the country on May 29 this year, the situation in agriculture was analyzed in detail, special attention was paid to such urgent problems as water scarcity, its rational use, creation of a guaranteed cotton crop.
– At the meeting, the Head of the state gave specific instructions on the effective use of water resources and their distribution, – said Shukhrat Yakubov, a deputy of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis. – At places, together with the water management staff, heads of farms, deputies of local Kengashes, we are conducting explanatory work on the rational and effective use of water. Workshops are organized on this issue in each district. To date, with participation of specialists, we have studied the cleaning of irrigation networks in the fields of farms in Kasansay, Yangikurgan and Chartak districts, the condition of hydraulic structures and preparation of lands for irrigation. Opinions on the revealed shortcomings were brought to the responsible persons. Control over the activity on their elimination has been established.
At the same time, in connection with the announcement in the country, from June 1 to July 1, 2018, the “Impact month on formation of guaranteed yield of cotton”, a working group has been established in the region. An active work is being held on coordinating activities of the working groups, summarizing, analyzing the data received, development of appropriate measures, organizing monitoring and explanatory work.
