Action Strategy and social policy through the eyes of expertsFederation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan with participation of partner organizations will hold an international conference on “Action Strategy and strong social policy: international practice and Uzbekistan’s experience”, on April 24-26 2018. A briefing was organized at the National Press Center on the eve of this major international event.
The idea of holding this international conference is fully supported by the International Labour Organization, International Trade Union Confederation, Pan-European Regional Council of the International Trade Union Confederation, and the International Organization of Employers. Representatives of these authoritative international organizations and trade union centers of foreign states, diplomatic corps and heads of international organizations accredited in Uzbekistan, experts and scientists from more than 30 countries are expected to attend the conference.
The main goal of the international conference is to widely familiarize participants with systemic reforms, their positive results, implemented at the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan on the basis of the Action Strategy on five priority areas of development of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2017-2021. At the same time, prospects for further development of social partnership between trade union organizations, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and other civil society institutions will be determined.
Within the framework of the forum, a visit of foreign participants to Samarkand, Bukhara and Tashkent regions is planned. Foreign experts will have an opportunity to see the results of a strong social policy in human interests, implemented in the country on the example of ordinary citizens’ lives.
The international conference will become an international platform for constructive discussion of proposals, opinions and experience of participants of the forum, directly involved in solving socio-labor problems. Holding a conference in this format demonstrates Uzbekistan’s openness to the international community, its readiness to study and implement international best practices.
