Construction of the metro, the total length of which is 52.1 kilometers, is carried out in five stages. First, a line will be laid from Dustlik station of Tashkent Metro to Kuylik market. There will be 8 stations on this stretch 11 kilometers long.

This was reported by the Press Service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The Head of the state visited Yashnabad district and got acquainted with the progress of construction activities.

“It is wrong for public transport to depend only on oil and gas. The aboveground metro is accessible, convenient and safe. Most importantly, it will take on some of the burden of other types of public transport, will help to relieve traffic in the city center. Moreover, it will be easier to control the charging of fare”, said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The Head of the state noted the need for accelerating activities, organizing work in several shifts and completing the construction as early as possible.

The President gave instructions on passing the first stage of the aboveground metro on the eve of Navruz celebration next year.
