On January 3, 2018, a meeting devoted to analysis of activities and identification of new priorities of complexes of the Cabinet of Ministers was held under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

As reported by the Press Service of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, on January 3, 2018, a meeting devoted to analysis of activities and identification of new priorities of complexes of the Cabinet of Ministers was held under the chairmanship of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister and his deputies, State Advisors to the President, heads of ministries, departments and economic associations.

In accordance with the resolution of the Head of our state “On additional measures of improving activities of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan” of November 27, 2017, the apparatus of the government was reorganized. In particular, Complex on the issues of education, health, ecology, environmental protection, physical culture and sport, as well as Complex on the issues of investment, innovation development, coordination of activities of free economic and small industrial zones, tourism are organized in the Cabinet of Ministers.

At the meeting, activities of these two complexes over the past period were analyzed, their plans and priorities for 2018 were discussed.

The President of our country, considering issues on the agenda in the spirit of critical analysis, noted that most organizations are not organizing their activities in accordance with requirements of the time and allowing passivity in execution of adopted decisions and programs.

People must feel the reforms that are being carried out in our country, the ongoing changes in activities of executive bodies. Increasing efficiency of activities in the lower level, living with concerns and aspirations of ordinary people must become the main criterion of all heads and officials, said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The Address of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Oliy Majlis became a historic event, which made a major turnaround in modern statehood of our country. The Address defines priorities for comprehensive development of the country along with consideration of the main results of activities implemented in 2017, forwards a number of legislative initiatives.

At the meeting, important tasks for complexes of the Cabinet of Ministers, ministries and departments, arising from the Address, were discussed. Information of officials on implemented activities and plans for the future was heard.

Implemented activities on development of the system of preschool education, improvement of the quality of school education and tests, activities of higher education institutions, preparing athletes for upcoming competitions were also considered. Tasks related to improvement of the healthcare system, expansion of pharmaceutical production, ecology and environmental protection were discussed.

At the meeting, issues of ensuring sustainable development of spheres and sectors of the economy, including implementation of tight monetary policy, strengthening activities of free economic and small industrial zones, attracting foreign investment, creating modern industrial enterprises, new workplaces, expanding the revenue base of local budgets and others were also thoroughly discussed.
