Mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries rises to a level that meets the long-term interests of people and serves as an important factor for ensuring peace, stability, security and consistent development in the Central Asian region. The state visit of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Tajikistan in March this year has raised bilateral relations to a new level. In its course, important agreements were reached on strengthening cooperation in political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

At the meeting it was noted that the economies of the two countries are complementary and have a competitive advantage due to geographical proximity and low transport costs.

With a view to intensifying cooperation in trade, economic and investment spheres, the parties agreed to hold a regular meeting of the Business Council and create favorable conditions for activities of business community on the territory of both countries.

Prime Ministers expressed confidence that the upcoming Uzbekistan – Tajikistan summit will raise the interstate relations to a new level and will open new horizons for further development of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries.
