On November 22, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in the Republic of Korea with a state visit at the invitation of President Moon Jae-in.

On November 22, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev arrived in the Republic of Korea with a state visit at the invitation of President Moon Jae-in.

The national flags of the two countries were raised and a guard of honor was lined up at the airport in Seoul, in honor of the President of Uzbekistan. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Strategy and Finance of the Republic of Korea Kim Dong-yeon met the Head of our state. After the ceremony, the delegation of Uzbekistan left for the residence allocated for them.

This visit is a logical continuation of the regular Uzbekistan – South Korean high-level meetings, giving the opportunity to discuss a wide range of issues of bilateral relations between our states, identify priority areas of cooperation, exchange views on current regional and international issues. 

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has arrived in the Republic of Korea 

During the high-level negotiations it is planned to discuss a wide range of issues on bilateral agenda, prospects for further development of interstate relations in political, trade-economic, financial-investment, scientific-technical, cultural-humanitarian and other spheres, exchange views on regional and international issues.

As previously reported, the Head of our state will also meet with the Speaker of the National Assembly Chung Sye-kyun and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea Lee Nak-yon, will visit Uzbekistan – South Korea business forum with participation of heads of leading economic and financial structures and entrepreneurs of the two countries.

Following the visit, adoption of a Joint Statement on comprehensive deepening of the strategic partnership by the Presidents of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea, as well as signing of significant intergovernmental and interdepartmental documents, commercial agreements and contracts providing for strengthening and expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields, is expected.
