On July 16, 2018, a meeting with the State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan Kazuyuki Nakane was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The sides exchanged views on a wide range of issues of Uzbekistan – Japan relations, including within the framework of “Central Asia + Japan” Dialogue, as well as on regional issues.

As it was emphasized at the meeting, Uzbekistan and Japan are in favor of further deepening multilateral and mutually beneficial bilateral cooperation, first of all for intensification of political dialogue.

Mutual interest in intensifying inter-parliamentary contacts, strengthening cooperation between foreign ministries, direct contacts between business circles of Uzbekistan and Japan was noted.

During the consideration of issues of developing cultural-humanitarian, tourism exchanges, Kazuyuki Nakane expressed gratitude for the introduction by the Uzbek side of a visa-free regime for Japan’s citizens.
