Barack Obama congratulates Islam Karimov with Uzbekistan’s Independence Day

President of the United States of America Barack Obama sent a congratulatory letter to President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov.

In his letter, the US President on behalf of all Americans congratulated the head of the state and all people of Uzbekistan with the Independence Day.

“On 1 September, we welcome the 19th anniversary of Uzbekistan as an independent and sovereign state,” Barack Obama wrote.

“I am confident that our countries will continue to work together to strengthen our bilateral relations in the future,” he added.

“May the celebrations bring happiness to you and the citizens of Uzbekistan,” the US President wished.
