World masterpieces presented in Tashkent

The art project “Masterpieces of world art in Tashkent” was launched no 18 May in the capital by the Academy of Arts of Uzbekistan jointly with the city administration and UNESCO office in the country.

The interactive project, opened on the World Museum Day, allows residents of Tashkent to get acquainted with reproductions of the best examples of paintings exhibited in well-known museums of Uzbekistan and the world.

Art specialists, artists, scientists, representatives of public and international organizations, diplomats, teachers and students were present at the opening of the paintings exhibition in the center of Tashkent.

Chairman of the Arts Academy of Uzbekistan Tursunali Kuziyev noted that Uzbekistan was pursuing large-scale work on preservation and research of the rich national heritage.

Ambassador of the USA Richard Norland said many museums of Uzbekistan were rich with unique exhibits that admire visitors. The project “Masterpieces of world art in Tashkent” is very important in familiarizing the public with the best works of fine art from world museums.
