Contest announced for creation of monument to writer Aybek

The Arts Academy and the Artists’ Creative Union of Uzbekistan announced a contest for creation of the monument to the prominent representative of the Uzbek literature, writer Aybek.

The contest, to last until 20 January, is open to professional sculptors. The monument will be placed in the capital of Uzbekistan, city of Tashkent.

The sculptors are free to choose the size of the designs and used materials. According to the terms of the contest, the designs should reflect the artistic image of the writer and his spiritual word.

Aybek, bearer of the title of the People’s Writer of Uzbekistan, was born in 1905 and died in 1968.
