On July 12, 2018, the opening ceremony of a high-tech metal processing plant JV Metal Processing was held in Tashkent. The metallurgical plant will produce parts for textile equipment, as well as spare parts used in the field of motor transport.

Within the framework of implementation of the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan of 04.12.2015. No. RP-2444 “On measures of expanding production of modern textile equipment” by Rieter AG on expanding localization of production of textile equipment in 2017-2018, a metal processing project has been implemented at Uzbekistan – Switzerland joint venture Metal Processing. The amount of mastered foreign investment is about $4 million.

As reported by the Press Service of “Uztuqimachiliksanoat” (Uzbekistan Textile Industry) Association, the enterprise has a capacity for processing 760 tons of metal per year with manufacturing various parts of any complexity for machine tool construction. About 60 jobs have been created.

It is planned to manufacture component parts (about 1000 items), first of all for FE Rieter-Uzbekistan. The project is primarily aimed at meeting the needs of the domestic market, but from 2020 (after stabilizing the quality, optimizing cost), it is also planned to start exporting.

In order to familiarize representatives of the Swiss Government with the investment activity of Rieter AG in Uzbekistan, a visit of the Swiss delegation led by the Federal Councillor Johann N. Schneider-Ammann, head of the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research to Uzbekistan in on July 12-13, was organized.

The opening ceremony of the new plant was attended by the leadership of “Uztuqimachiliksanoat” Association, manufacturers of textile, sewing and knitted products, as well as representatives of the mass media.
