There are more than 1300 artisans in the region. Schools of handicrafts are formed in Margilan, Kokand, Rishtan district. The organization of the Republican center for development of sericulture and home-based work will undoubtedly contribute to further development of handicrafts.

400 women and young people from Margilan, Fergana, Tashlak and Rishtan districts are studying the secrets of various crafts. This year, the center plans to produce products worth $14.5 million.
