The foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan for January-May 2018 amounted to 14.7 billion US dollars, including exports – 6.5 billion dollars, import – 8.2 billion US dollars.

The foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan for January-May 2018 amounted to 14.7 billion US dollars, including exports – 6.5 billion dollars, import – 8.2 billion US dollars. The foreign trade balance was minus $1.7 billion.

As reported by the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Statistics, exports of energy carriers and petroleum products increased by 64.3% as compared to the same period of last year, 1.8 times due to export of natural gas, chemical products and products from it – by 2.6%, due to exports of plastics and of products from them – by 18.5%.

The volume of exports of food products increased by 60.9% due to an increase in the export of fruit and vegetable products by 73.8%.

Among the CIS countries, the main foreign trade partners of Uzbekistan are Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, which account for 27.5% of the foreign trade turnover, among others – China, Turkey, the Republic of Korea, Afghanistan, Germany, Latvia, Iran, France, which account for 32.1% of the total foreign trade turnover.
