Affordable and qualitative construction material made of reedThe President of our country Shavkat Mirziyoyev during his trip to Surkhandarya region on February 10-11, 2017, got acquainted with the project on organization of production of particleboard from the stems of cotton-plant and reed, in Termez.
The Head of our state gave necessary instructions on the project of Uzbekistan construction materials joint stock company and the industrial construction and supply private enterprise “Termiz-taminot” on production of slabs from the stems of cotton-plant and reed.
According to experts, wild reed grows in the area of more than 5 thousand hectares. Up to now, reed beds have been burned every autumn, which caused serious damage to the environment and polluted the atmosphere. The remains of reed were decomposed in irrigation and drainage ditches all year round. Skilled entrepreneurs forced the natural raw material to work for the economy and protected the environment, which deserves all praise. In the current autumn season, reed beds were not burned in Termez and Muzrabad districts, which greatly pleased many residents.
The new enterprise is capable of producing finished products for 35 billion sums per year. At present, the collective is producing and delivering up to a thousand pieces of reed slabs to customers, a day. The construction material made in local conditions is convenient and useful for people, who are engaged in individual housing construction.
The cost of the imported particleboard in Termez is 225-250 thousand sums, while the more solid, domestic reed slab costs 140 thousand sums.
150 people are permanently employed at the enterprise. All necessary conditions for their effective labor and meaningful leisure are created. Raw materials in the workshop of the enterprise are delivered without interruption. The entire process, starting from the primary processing of raw materials to the production of finished products is carried out with the help of modern equipment. At the next stage, the initiators of the project are planning to establish the lamination of slabs.
