Navruz is an ancient and common holiday of the region’s people. It is based on such noble ideas as friendship, harmony, generosity and good-neighborliness. Our people since ancient times celebrate it together with friends and relatives.
On March 21, early in the morning, the sounds of karnays and surnays announced the beginning of the sayils (folk festivities) in Uzbekistan, dedicated to Navruz holiday.
Navruz holiday in Namangan began in high spirits. As previously reported, after the spread of the news about the preparation of 5 tons of sumalak (a wheat bran pudding – the main holiday dish of Navruz), the attention of not only residents of the city, but also of all regions of the country was focused on festive celebrations in Namangan.
Fergana regional council of the Union of Youth of Uzbekistan is conducting various cultural and educational events under the motto “Dear compatriots, may every day be Navruz!”.
