About the Agency
Uzbekistan National News Agency (UzA) is the state source of official information and the leading information agency of the republic.
The agency’s history dates back to 1918, when the RosTA’s department was opened in Tashkent. Later it was transformed into the National Telegraph Agency UzTAG in the system of TASS.
On February 5, 1992, it was reorganized into Uzbekistan National News Agency by the presidential decree.
Today, UzA covers activities of the state governing bodies and important socio-political events in the country with maximum completeness. The work of the agency’s correspondents in all regions of the country allows the agency to keep a finger on the pulse of the main events in the republic.
UzA news is distributed in Uzbek, Russian, English, French, German, Spanish, Arabic and Chinese languages.
